WOW! Did that really just happen? After a week of people worrying about the weather, it couldn’t have turned out any better. Minus a few 90mph winds, it was a perfect day at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT. Dubs on Defrost has always been the first event to see our non-local friends for those of us who live in the Tri-State Area. Easily close to 1200 cars, this show is always a great venue to reveal those completed winter projects.
Early season New England shows are always hit or miss for weather. Its either 98* and sunny or 10 below and snowing or raining. This year was the exception, it was gorgeous. Everyone being so anxious really brought it this year easily doubling the amount of cars from last years Dubs on Defrost. So if you were not here than where were you? Sun, 50 degree weather, and some of the best cars New England and the Tri-State had to offer, you most definitely missed out if you were not there.
The range of Euro metal as well as some fine offerings from the far east were on display throughout the show grounds, everything from clean Mk1 and aircooled to Mk6 and CCs were in attendance and there for your perusing pleasure. If you were not wide eyed and happy in the pants than you were asleep with your bored girlfriend sitting in your car. The winter really seemed over on Saturday. Car season is amongst us people so for those of you who are not finished with those projects need to get your stuff together because some heavy hitters were out DEFROSTING this weekend.
