A friend of ours is breaking into the music industry and wanted us to make a video for a song she produced.
My name is Sham, and I drive a 328 xi sports package, her name is Winter. I’ve always been into german cars and it was my “dream” to have a MK3 Jetta as a kid. As my money got right, my eyes grew bigger and bigger. I’ve always wanted to throw some upgraded rims on it, and maybe bags/coils just living in the Bronx and driving it to and from the City it makes it a very difficult decision. My father always told me germans make great, reliable and strong quality cars. I love how they hug “curves”, and when I want to let my inner speed demon out the pick up on them is insane and smooth. Feels like I’m doing 20 when I’m doing 90.. LOL
Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Beauty & The Beats’ interest in music began at an early age going to studio sessions with her mother who was a singer. She briefly took piano lessons at the Harlem School of the Arts but wasn’t reintroduced to the idea of being involved with music production until attending college for Communications and Audio Engineering.
While in school, Beauty & the Beats became immersed in recording albums with some of her peers and bought her first piece of equipment, a Korg Triton. She met another aspiring producer, Denn-Ice who was part of Multi-Platinum Producer Buckwild’s Production team, Kurrup Money. Buckwild took an interest in Beauty & The Beats and he and Denn-Ice became a support system providing advice and tips on improving her craft, along with teaching her the Akai MPC.
Currently, Beauty & The Beats is working with many up and coming artists and also recently launched a full service production company, Knockturnal Ent.
Beauty & the Beats grew inspirations from artists such as Nas and Havoc from Mob Deep. Her most inspirational album from Nas was Illmatic. “A breathe of fresh air” is how she would describe this album. As for Havoc his style of storytelling through his beats was like “no other”. Specifically the G.O.D. Father Part 3 Scarface sample he flipped. “Crazy” is the term she expresses his use of technique.
