Cleanliness is next to impossible, but this shits in its prime.

Yoooo my name’s Justin (Prime on the internets.) I’m 20 years old and drive a janky 2000 Jetta. I’m a junior in college and work on the weekends and stuff at Best Buy. I have a really awesome group of friends. We go by Prime Auto or something dumb like that.

How long have you owned this car?
Since last like April I think.

Is there anything unique about the history of this car?
Probably stuff I don’t know about. I think it was wrecked. Not really unique at all but I popped my oil pan cherry last weekend coming home from the ISO meet in North Carolina so that was kinda cool.

What other cars did you consider?
Well I had a bagged s10 that I built all through high school. I didn’t want to drive it to college so I sold it to buy something more responsible. Yeah, that didn’t really work out. I think I looked at like s14s and e36 M3s. Don’t know why I picked a girls car.

What was your objective with this car?
To pull white girls ;)

What tuning style would you describe this car as?
Uhhh I like Japanese cars so I’m kinda inspired by that. I’m not really a huge euro person and rarely hang out with other VW people or attend euro specific shows.

Who helped you build this car?
I can’t claim the engine mods. That was done by the previous owner. Other than that my splendid friends. Namely Kevin @ R2B2, Darrin @ Fat Cat Fab, Derek, Sheldon and the rest of our Prime Auto crew who most of the time just sit around and watch. Also big shouts to Brannon Pool for his awesome photo skills.

What makes your car special?
Only MK4 I know of with these wheels. There’s one other MK5 Golf that’s had them for a little bit. That guy is probably pissed he’s not the only one now. Whatever.

What is your favorite part/feature/function?
The going fast part. People never expect it so that’s kinda cool.

Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car?
Can’t say the forums didn’t influence me. I just do it for me though.

What don’t you like about this car?
Pretty much just the paint. It’s like 4 different shades of red and has a little bit of peeling clear. Hopefully that will be changing soon.

What was your biggest obstacle in building this car?
Probably just the fact that it’s my only car and I have to rely on it everyday. And money, that’s a big one.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project?
It’s not even close to finished so like a 6?

What would you do to the car if money were no object?
Hmm, definitely air ride, even more baller wheels, a lot more motor stuff, nice interior and paint. Just finish it pretty much.

Who has been your biggest critic of this project?
Hmm, my dad likes to give us all shit about our backyard built “lowriders” but I guess that’s really what they are. Besides that, I really don’t care what people think.

Who gets to drive this car?
Let a friend drive it home from a party once and we all ended up in jail. But that’s a whole different story…

If your car had a motto, what would it be?
Driven hard and put away wet… That sounds weird though.

If you had to name your car, what would you name it?
Never really was into the whole naming thing so I’m not sure.

What one word best describes your car?
Janky. It looks better in pictures.
