Is there anything special about the history of this car?
Not really, I purchased it from the original owner w/ 3200 miles on it after he had surgery on his knee and decided to sell the car.
What other cars did were you considering?
mk4 GLI
What was the game plan with this car?
Clean and Unique styling, but still able to daily the car without too much of a hassle.
What style would you describe this car as?
British inspired styling.
Who helped you with this car?
The guys at Dreamwerks did the bodywork. My buddy Ryan did the interior work, and a bunch of others helped along the way with a lot of other stuff.
What makes your car different or special?
It’s one of 1k imola yellow mk4s.
What is your favorite feature of this car?
Either the bagyard airride or the interior. Tough call
Who or what inspired the direction of this car?
I like to browse the internet looking at different cars and forums for ideas. I pulled a lot of ideas from cars over seas, and some ideas from older generations. I always wanted a mk2 gti on OZ Turbos with some Recaro A8 seats. So I tried to have a newer version of that..
What don’t you love about this car?
Front wheel fitment is lacking
What was your biggest obstacle with this project?
Money.. isn’t that always the case?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how happy are you with the car now?
8. There’s a lot of things I would like to change/fix about the car but for right now I’m fairly happy with how it has turned out.
What would you do to the car if money weren’t a question?
R32 motor/drivetrain swap with a shaved bay. Possible color change.
Who has been your biggest hater of this project?
Everyone on the internet likes to throw their 2 cents in on everything.
Who’s allowed to drive this car?
Now that it’s done? Myself and very few others.
