My Name is Raphael and I´m a 27 year old student of constructional engineering at the University of Applied Sience in Cologne (Germany). Hobbies? Well, i´ve always been interested in cars. My Father had quite an impressive car collection, so as a young boy, I always dreamed of having a sweet ride my own. Other hobbies are soccer, photography, computers, hanging out with friends or going to the cinema. And I´m happily UNmarried!
How long have you owned this car?
I own this MKV for about 3 years now.
Is there anything unique about the history of this car?
It has been a car in the Volkswagen-Werk in Wolfsburg.
What other cars did you consider?
None.
What was your objective with this car?
I just wanted to get some Rims and some springs to bring it down a little….and this is where I am now.
What tuning style would you describe this car as?
US combined with OEM+ and my Style
Who helped you build this car?
There were just a few people who helped me. I want to thank Dani, Basti and Dirk of XBM-tuning(.com)
What makes your car special?
The black & white pattern of the interior and the Rims.
What is your favorite part/feature/function?
My favorite part so far is the black & white square pattern inside and in the back.
Who or what inspired the direction of modifications on this car?
It came mostly from my head, but the US scene had a huge influence on my car, as you can see by the rims. Nobody in germany has those rims on an MKV, maybe 17 inch but not the original BBS SUPER RS in 18″. I love those rims, always have and always will.
What don’t you like about this car?
I don´t like the color of the seats so far, but there will be a huge change in the future.
What was your biggest obstacle in building this car?
The biggest obstacle was the inner roof. Took us days to get the pattern holding properly.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied are you with the outcome of this project?
Right about now, i would say 8 or 8 and a half. Not finished yet.
What would you do to the car if money were no object?
It would get a new paintjob, new seats, a new engine, new breakes and some small modifications which I have planed in my head.
Who has been your biggest critic of this project?
Critic? There are no critics
Who gets to drive this car?
Only myself. My G´friend is right next to me or a friend, but I´m the only one steering it.
If your car had a motto, what would it be?
“From Trendline to Skyline” Reason: It has been a normal Rabbit with Trendline Equipment. Meaning: NOTHING but Airbag and the winter-package. Rims are blue like the sky, so that would probably be it.
If you had to name your car, what would you name it?
I would name it: One of Two or Twin-one Reason: me and a friend founded the “*dubtwinz” (http://dubtwinz.tumblr.com) and mine was the first.
What one word best describes your car?
BÄM!
