With a few smaller northeast shows down, the regions largest show and in many opinions the real season opener New England Dustoff in Seekonk, Mass, put on by the boys at Ocean State Dubs is on us. As in many years I woke up seeing rain on the ground, but I knew that it wouldn’t dampen spirits, well at least not mine, with beverages packed and the D80 charged and my buddy picking me up in his dumped and clean R32 we were ready to go. We met up with the rest of the Euro:Society boys we cruised to Dustoff. When rolling in we were there earlier in most thus allowing us to get some prime parking right on the wall at the top of the oval track where Dustoff is held.
As the day moved on, the track very quickly filled up along with the exhibition parking right outside the tracks main gates. EZ ups popped up all over the place and beers being cracked, their was a vibe saying thank god its car season, people snapping pictures, everyone’s winter projects being unveiled and the usual suspects on hand Dustoff was well underway. As the day went on people got drunk and antsy, thus turned into some trackside shenanigans, people yelling to get people to do burnouts as they exited the track which is frowned upon by the staff but at the same time we all love a good burn out.
With the trophies handed out and people packing up and the few finishing up those last few beverages. Dustoff 2010 was over, new friends made, and everyone excited to get to the next show the 2010 VW season is amongst us and this was damn good way to kick it off.
